Hi, I'm trying to write a description for this photo, but I'm not sure what the plant is called. The red hanging things were on trees, and they were in a tropical house thingy. Anyone have any ideas?

We have so many of those in the Philippines. For what it's worth, we call them cat's tails (in Filipino, of course). I have no idea what the scientific name is.

Since people here seem to know a lot about their plants, maybe you could help me out with this one :)? Taken in southern Ontario. Any ideas?

Bull Thistle. Usually considered a noxious weed, but has the wonderful side effect of attracting finches, who love thistle seed.
And, as you've found the flower and the insects that frequent it are wonderful subjects for a summer macro shoot!
