Hi Everyone,
I have been asked to take some event photography and candids during a dinner that will last 5 hours. They would like some photos of the guests enjoying themselves and having a good time. No formal shots or portraits will be nessecary in this shooting. They would also like to have the choice of a package, with prints of the event or just the shooting. I was wondering how much people charge per hour for photography.
Thanks Rich |

Have you tried asking them how much they have budgeted for your services?

Thats the problem, its not a company that has a budget, just a family thats having some sort of reunion thing going on that they want photos of.

I'm sure they still have some expectations on prices.

I would say $25-$50 an hour + what ever you charge prints.

50-100 per hour. But since they are so nice you will cut them a deal at.... thereby establishing your price and setting no expectations. |

Thanks for eveyones help. I have actually priced the job and gotten it now, but need to write up the contract for it. I want to be sure that I have advertisment rights to the photos so how would I go about stating that in the contract to be sure I am covered.
Thanks Again

If you don't mind, what did you charge? |

I am charging her for the total of 8 hours of shooting (5 hour dinner and 3 hour lunch) about $500.00 which is $50.00 an hour. |
