do you vote down when you think a photo looks like it did not follow the editing rules? or do you just wait for a validation on it and come back to it later?

You should vote every photo assuming the editing is legal! Question it if you want to, but don't assume anything is illegal.

edit to clarify the second use of assume, LOL!

I vote it as if it is legally done and submit a ticket to the SC to validate it. That's what the rules tell me to do and that's what I do. One of the most insidious forms of "discrimination" in DPC is when legally-processed images that LOOK like they might be breaking the rules get voted down even though they turn out to have been legal after all. It has happened to me a few times, and it is depressing.

It is absolutely against the rules and the spirit of the site to downgrade images because you think they may be illegal; that's a call for SC to make.

Always, always, ALWAYS vote as if it's legal. How would you feel if you submitted a perfectly legal shot, but someone *thinks* that it's not legal and hands you a 1 or 2, or whatever JUST for that reason? Fair? No, it's not.

If you have any question about the legality of a shot, there's a link that anyone can use to spark an investigation by Site Council. Let us determine the legality. We review every single request that comes in.

Did I mention ALWAYS make sure you vote as though it's legal???
