Hey thanks to everybody for all of the really nice things you said about my entry. I didn't think you guys were very nice at all up until now :)
Anyway, a few people made comments about the setup I used for Forrest Gump - why I did it the way I did (like why from behind, where are the chocolates, why the white background, etc). Here's the pic I used, for whatever that's worth.
Thanks again - you guys rock.
and here's the entry:
ps edit: and should I be offended that someone said I look "Gumpish"? :)

Given that it' MEANT to be Forrest Gump, looking Gumpish must surely be a compliment!
:o)
I think your image is a very nicely done homage to the film, and to that scene from the film in particular.

i would hazard a guess that the gumpish remark is based on the fact that you did manage to capture the essence of gump so well! same posture and everything. looking at the two they are almost identical. huh, maybe that is a little scary! ;)
just kidding, Tom Hanks would be proud. |

"The Essence of Gump"...isn't that the Body Shop's newest fragrance?
Actually I did feel like I had an IQ of 75 while I was taking this pic. Picture a doofus in a suit, white socks and running shoes, sprinting from camera to bench repeatedly in a busy park.

My mom knows Tom Hanks. I'll have to get her to ask him why Forrest never looked at that little diagram printed under the top cover of the box, showing the locations of the soft-centers ....
Excellent photo. Captured the style/look/feel of the scene beautifully. |
