Okay, I've checked my sherpet yappie records and all I can find is that we gave her a Yappie along with Jutilda, two of the first yappies we gave out, I believe. I thought of them as "lifetime achievement" yappies, but it does not officially say so.
Jutilda was eventually given a "Cat Yappie" for 9 lifetimes worth of comments. I nominate sherpet for a Cat Yappie as well. If anyone deserves it, she does.
krnodil, Queen of OYNC, perhaps you could give this nomination its own line item on this week's ballot? |

Certainly - although officially I suppose I shouldn't appear to be taking orders from underlings. Might set a dangerous precedent. :P
Unless you're High Commander or something, which outranks Queen. :D
And zardoz - for the record every nomination gets thrown in for voting, even if the nom is never seconded, thirded, etc. So you mentioned her, and she's in. No problem at all. :) |

Yappie nomination for redmoon. I got a lot of great comments on my Backsides entry, but this one was really quite wonderful:
oh i like this; very french nouvelle vague! not sure about the weird brolly, but the trench coats and style is otherwise faultless. if this turns out to be a candid, then my level of deeply impressedness will quadruple, for it feels a very slick and perfected staging. the setting works well (stuff there, but none of it distracting or out of place - the balloons actually contrast with the mood in brilliant subtlety). technically it's excellent, and some of the best grey tones i've seen for a while. a beautiful image - either exceptionally lucky or gloriuosly talented, or a bit of both ;)
And for the record, exceptionally lucky. :-) |

oh yes, a catyappie for sherpet for sure! i thought we'd already given her a lifetime award... but i was wrong. certainly she was one of the first people we all thought of when the yappie-lagniappe tradition began! i second sherpet for a kitty-licker! |

Award sherpet the cat yappie without going through the ballot process. |

sure - voting seems beside the point, doesn't it - a Cat Yappie should be a presumed unanimous and from what I've heard in this forum and others, and seen for myself, having been a recipient of a Sherpet comment many times over, we'll get this award sorted very soon. |

Over 7000 comments have been given out in the last 3 weeks by the members of the Commenters Club!
If you go into that thread you will see a break down of the members and their comment quotas. Surely there are some great comments amongst that lot.

I'd like to nominate eschelar for a yappie for this wonderful comment on : Poise by samtrundle.
another fantastic result of using negative space to enhance the primary subject. The first glance at the thumbnail made me feel that by pushing the suit down to the black point, you had made the image uncomfortably arranged and I didn't like it.
Click on that thumbnail and this thing unfolds on the desktop.
Stunningly managed gradients and textures. Beautifully controlled whites. Those alone define the image as intentional, and thus begins the eye's journey into why.
the missing suit jacket becomes an implication. Something you expect to see but don't.
What a powerful counterpoint for the tragedy of his eye.
Totally brilliant and excellent in every way. I don't usually just look at an image just to look at it as long as I did for this one. I just sat and stared. I hope that says enough.

Comment by JawnyRico:
Not sure why you felt you had to hang an elf to get this shot. I mean there are plenty of other things to shoot in the world. Well in any case, it has great lighting and composition. Love the angle and DOF. May God have mercy on your soul for doing this, R.I.P. Tom Thumb, we love you Elmer!!
I was simply thrilled to see that there are still members with a sense of humor. . . |

now here's an example of how OOBIE still meets the challenge... voters just don't realize that it meets the challenge! I also love the disregard for dpc eyecandyness. |
