my boyfriend is VERY supportive of my addiction ... mostly onaccounta he has one also ... it's called GOLF ... so he's off doing his thing (I golf also, just not as obsessively as he does) and I go shoot for challenges or just for fun ... we meet for dinner/drinks and discuss his round in detail and the images I took in detail ... he is my toughest critic and helps me see my images in another light ...
ok, my point is ... does she have a hobby? if photography isn't her passion, encourage her to find one ... |

I'm kinda lucky. My wife knows I'm quite obsessed with photography at the minute and she does roll her eyes sometime and doesn't quite get why i'm spending 2 hours taking pictures of a lemon, as good as the resulting pic may be. But hey, she has her vices (harry potter fan fiction anyone?) and I have mine.
With you gf kicking up a stink, it's probably cos she feels neglected that you spend time hitting the update button or whatever. Make her a part of your hobby- take pictures of her and explain what you're doing and it might go a little easier.

Oh my boyfriend gets sooo annoyed. But he also gets into it too... sometimes too much and I've had to tell him to back off. He's much more artistic and quick on his feet than me so it's hard for him to hold back when he's got an idea and my brain is still ticking away. We decided it's usually best for me to work on my own after the crossdressing and popculture sessions (he was modeling) didn't go so well... lol.
Yea.. so for TAKING photos he's all for it, for DPC and the forums and the update button, he thinks I'm obsessive and I take the scores too seriously (which I do! lol... something to work on).

Haha! My boyfriend is so totally the same! With the creativity and bossiness. We're still practicing the 'back off' thing. But at least he understands my obsessions and has his own.

yea my boyfriend is a drummer in a band... so he's got that to do now that they are renting a studio... come to think of it things have gotten better since then and the shoe is now on the other foot at times... "Do you have to come home from the studio so late? Do you have to go tomorrow"
ahhh relationships... |

Ahhh... relationships exactly! I suppose as long as we complain, then chuckle, it's all good. Wish mine would pick up his guitar again... I really enjoyed that obsession.

You know being away is a good thing too. I used to work with my woman and we saw each other every single day and went to lunch all the time, took our breaks together etc... but then she started working from home an I thought my world would crash. Well it didn't and now we spend all day apart and I get to see her at night which makes my day worth it.
Think about it like this. spend all day missing him and thinking to yourself how wonderful it is that your not fighting or arguing or anything else bad that could go wrong and think about what you are going to do for him when he comes home.
This is a good thing. Be happy.
