While we are having various discussions going on about how to make DPCPrints appeal more to buyers, here are a couple more things that I've noticed.

(a) There are still prints out there that just have the file name as the title. That looks sloppy to me (even though I understand it's easy to do).

(b) Very few photogs have added anything to their bio. I find them fascinating to read when they are there and am more likely to browser the artist's portfolio after that. This is the place where you can point people to your website where you have other photos you can make available for prints, where you can link to your email if you want them to contact you, where you can ... basically put anything you want them to know about you.

(c) This is where I'm guilty, but I'll add it anyhow and then work on my own photos. Very few have any kind of text/description/additional information with them. Again, as a buyer, when I do see there's a description, I'm more likely to stay longer on that page, read it, contemplate the pic again and make more of a connection ... and hopefully a purchase. :)

Happy selling everyone!

I just noticed that they changed it so that you have to change your title before you can even submit your photo for review. That won't fix the people who already have .jpg titles up there, but it will prevent it from happening in the future.

a) Not guilty. Unfortunately, I'm probably better at titling than taking the photo ....

b) Partly guilty. I have stuff in my DPC bio, but can't find how to edit or view it from the Prints site. Is it the same one as for DPC? I'd probably have different info if there were separate bios for the Challenge site and the Print site.

c) Not guilty -- I try and include a detailed description of the photo, both for the interest value, and as a way of getting searchable keywords associated with it (I don't add keywords I've already used in the description).

When I remember, I also copy someone's technique of putting the text of the photo caption (if any) at the end of the description, since the type is usually hard to read on the small preview images.

There's a box under the one for your dpchallenge bio for your dpcprints bio. (my home, my preferences)
