I am looking to by some CF chips. I have misplaced all THREE of my 2GB, so looking min of 2GB but can and will take larger chips if the price is good. Need to be available for shipping to canada... Anyone know of some good bargains out there. Prefer known names. I have had good luck with Lexar.

I paid 19.99 per card US Dollars for my PNY/Polaroid 2GB cards at circuit city. Not sure whats out there now.
The PNY/Polaroid cars benchmark better on the large transfer end then my SanDisk Cards but the same in the small transfer end.

Sandisk Ultra II 2 gb cards are $29 at Costco. Can't beat their return policy should something go wrong with it, ever.
Online: Transcend is good and cheaper than the other major brands. |

Just don't buy off EBay. I bought a couple - good price but clever fakes.

Try //www.ncix.com or //www.tigerdirect.ca to not pay import.
Try //www.newegg.com and the transcend cf cards for inexpensive great cards. Otherwise try Costco as was also suggested. Dunno if Sam's Club is in Alberta yet, try there also

THanks Everyone newegg.com had the best selection and prices but they don't seem to sell to Canada
(Transcent 4 GB x266 for 48.99 &
Transcend 8GB x266 for 90.99)
for a total of 140
so knowing what I want have to find it were I can buy it. Really frustrating at times little things like that.
We do have a local costco they are selling
Transcend
4 GB 120x
CompactFlashâ„¢ Card
$76.99
and
Transcend
8 GB 120x
CompactFlashâ„¢ Card
$149.99
//www.tigerdirect.ca/
is a little cheeper but then there is shipping, but knowing that there is that much faster cards out there I went hunting and found
However Amazon.com
Transcend 266X Extreme Speed - Flash memory card - 4 GB - 266x - CompactFlash Price: $58.99
& Transcend 266X Extreme Speed - Flash memory card - 8 GB - 266x - CompactFlash 106.94
Not the best price but will ship to canada :-) And I really appeciate the advice that Transcend is a decent brand.
And got to the very last stage and Amazon.com will not see to an Canadian address either.
So tried B&H (don't carry Transcend brand) and Adorama which does
4gb 266x for 62.95
8gb 266x for 114.95
BUT the 8gb is out of stock and there is a 30.00 shipping charge.
210.00 (from the 140.00 that egg would have charged)

Hey Carol,
How about the local vistek?
//www.vistek.ca/details/details.aspx?WebCode=219110
May be a little more money, but no shipping and you could be shooting within the hour. ;o)

One does not pay duty on items purchased in the USA... but you do have to pay the PST & GST, (Except some Provinces). as you would if you purchased them in Canada.
I purchase the vast majority of items in the USA and have them shipped to a UPS Store in Upper New York State, and pick them up there as it is much quicker to deal with the Customs Officials at the border, than it is to have your package go through the Customs Offices in your region.
In addition, one must consider that when transferring items cross-border, you may incur "Brokerage Fees" and that these can be rather substantial.
Hope this helps.

If you can't find anyone in the USA, contact me and I can give you the particulars regarding the UPS I have the items shipped to, and I could then forward them on to you either via UPS or Mail.

boy that is frustration
Staples Canada
SanDisk 2GB Ultra II CompactFlash Memory Card
Item Number 574212 $109.93
I do have a 4GB, an 1GB and a 512, but somehow can't find my three 2GB chips. There were in the house and puts somewhere safe. husband jokes I will not find them till I order more chips. (how I got over 10GB worth of chips in the first place). So I haven't stopped shooting (Do you know it is possible to fill up 5GB of chips in 4ish hours shooting on the jpg only mode of a 10D. :-B ) So I am really looking for 4GB and up given the new Mark III (whenever it finally arrives) will need some shooting room.
