In case anyone is interested there are a whole pile of DPC pictures on someones blog miskoi.blog.hr/arhiva-2007-02.html.
I have found my pictures rubbing shoulders with Idnic, Marbo, Sherpet, etc etc. Unfortunately I can't speak Hungarian so it's hard to guess what miskoi's thoughts on life are - but he has at least given some degree of acknowledgement to the photographers.
Personally I'm flattered to be in with so many great names, but in case anyone feels differently about there pictures being used check out the site.
Just keep scrolling down, and then page forward or backwards.
On further inspection there seem to be lot's of DPC pics on his site. Any Hungarian speakers out there ? |

Wow, is that the longest blog in blogistory? Looks like he/she wrote my ice cream cone image a lil poem... wish I could speak Hungarian!

You know, as far as I know I've never had an image lifted like this. It occurs to me it may be because i do not keyword my images when I load them into DPC. I suspect that many/most of these sto9len images are found with keyword searches.

Robert - I've never keyworded any of my images here. I hate keywording.
I just stumbled upon this StumbleUpon page:
//saar.stumbleupon.com/
Many look familiar! :)

I came across them by doing an image search on my username. I got pages and pages of DPC pictures and a few that were not. It might be worth looking for yourself this way if you haven't already. |

here's one of mine, and some other people's.
Really, what's the harm? They like the photo's, then it's ok. My name (well, username) is there. They didn't photoshop it to hell.
I know when I put photos on the internet, they can get it. A choice I made. And so do you all. Your choice, right?

Whoa...this guy has photos from half of DPC, lol. I finally got a photo lifted, :P but the internet at work just shows a red X. My luck! Can't even see which one it was. Guess that means someone found a photo of interest. :) |

So far it seems that credit has been given to the photogaphers, at least by username. I haven't minded seeing one of mine show up on another site because they listed me as the photog.

I just looked at the site and have to agree with yakatme on this one, the blog owner doesn't appear to be claiming ownership. In fact, every photogs ID is shown. The only thing that is copyrighted is the poem.

The majority of the photos are simply snapshots by "misko". edit to add It looks something like a photo a day blog.
I searched here and found misko, a registered user who hasn't participated in any challenges yet, not uploaded any images, and not posted in any forums. He registered day before yesterday (6/20/07).
I can't read the language, but it seems that so far he is just displaying some of our photos (with credit) and discussing them.

A newlywed named Jewell decided to Google her name, but the spell-check feature asked if she meant "jewel." "See, you can't even spell your own name," teased her husband, Myron. He wasn't quite so upbeat when the spell-checker asked if he really meant "moron." |

so joining dpchallenge gives someone the right to post our photos somewhere without permission being asked or given? I must have missed that in the membership agreement!
I think that a member "borrowing" other member's work without asking, even while giving a credit is grounds for being banned from this site isn't it?

Hey, I think this is the first time my image has been used by someone else.
I'm at work, though, which for some reason blocks that site.
Can someone quickly describe what image is at
//www.geocities.com/miskonearh/osvrti/11levyj413.jpg ?

There might well be a user called misko just joined - but the blogger is called miskoi : )
He sure loves his doggy though (assuming it's a 'he') |

Gee just when I was getting used to a new audience as well : ) |

Ha HA! I will randomly looked google my username through images to see what comes up and found an edited image of this shot.
It had been on stumbleupon before but had been edited into a .gif with fake rain falling in front of it. I joined stumbleupon to contact the user to switch it to my image and get rid of the .gif.(She did and was very good about it) When I asked her where she got it she couldn't remember, but I just found the guys who made it!! Please everyone don't bombard him with messages, I'll take care of it. He actually has my original photo above linked and credited with his edit underneath. I am going to just ask him to take down in a very stern manner. But I never thought I would find the original poster, needle in a haystack! |

I just found one of mine on a Flickr site - I'm shocked! lol
Edit to add: I don't think she is trying to pass these off as hers but she doesn't link back to the source. I saw several more from people here.

Thank goodness it wasn't a picture of my daughter this time :)
Plus, she gives credit to the original photog :) |

Errr yeah....that was after I had a big fight with her and filed legal papers in the correct fashion...that got my images removed which she was claiming as credited to her.
Since then...she has added the 'Pic not taken by me' statement.
Just watch her as she feels that she didn't do anything wrong...and I wouldn't be surprised to see her name come up in the forums again down the track.
