| by the way, I would be willing to help proof read the German translation. From birth I have been raised fluently bilingual in English and German. |

The second "ihr" (first sentence) and "ihrem" (second sentence) should be capitalized. A comma is needed after "Anpassungen" (same sentence).
"Aufpolieren" can have some implication of shoddy work. For this reason I'd suggest to substitute : "verbessern" oder "aufbessern". |

Can someone translate the rules into English for me and judging by the number of threads regarding rules and definitions, many others.
To me, they are Double Dutch at times. |

@ zeuszen, you're right about the grammar, I missed out on those. For what concerns 'polish', don't you think it already has that same implication in English?

Agree with Leroy!!!!
But if you don't want that I could help with the translation to Spanish. I could then open a thread so that other people could check on my translation and make any suggestion (regarding the language).
What do you think?? |

I could translate them into Serbo-Croat, if that's any good? :)
Somebody drop me a PM if this is going ahead and translations are actually being posted somewhere, since I'd rather not waste time doing it for no reason. |

If you ARE going ahead with translations, make sure to post them somewhere that others can input, too.
It would be nice if many of the bilingual members would help together to make it the best translation possible for each language tackled. |

Well, it's just a sample, for now; but, for what it's worth, while "polish" here isn't the best wording in English either, the literal German just gets too close to "licking your plate" [aufpolieren] and "doing" someone [polieren], to put it mildly.

Might be easier to have a line at the bottom of the rules that says in the various languages --
If the rules are unclear, please ask in the forums.

Well, anyone submitting an entry must check off a box attesting (in pretty simple English) that they've read, understand, and agree to abide by the rules.
It seems to me that if anyone doesn't understand any part of the rules, the burden is on the photographer to ask for clarification before submitting. |
While I rarely disagree with GeneralE, I have the feeling that while the photographer may think s/he understands the rules, and checks the box, that person would have a clearer understanding if the rules were in his/her language. |
