The subject of my "In the Garden" shot died unexpectedly yesterday at the age of 5 months. He was Lottie's birthday present last month and we're all so sad about it. I guess he was upset about the average finish of the shot in the challenge. : (

Can't get that pasting into post thing to work, oh well, here's the link.

I am sorry to hear that. I will keep the little one in my prayers. I know it is hard for little ones and big ones to handle. He was a cutie

Thanks Pedro. I've followed the instructions and other people's advise but I've never been succesful getting that to work, maybe it's a Mac thing? Macusers?

Thanks everyone for your comments. Any suggestions for another pet? She thinks she needs a rabbit. I think we won't try a goat again, we don't know enough about them I guess.

Hi Marianne,
Maybe it is a Mac thing - think Gordon's a Mac user, and he seems to know just about all things technical. I just got the link from the properties of the image, and used the 'insert picture' icon.
Exotic pets (by that I mean most non-domesticated animals) aren't well suited to being pets. They usually require great care, and help with them isn't readily available, since there aren't so many around as pets. I used to keep snakes and lizards, but have since come to discover they're not happy being pets...
anything wrong with a dog? :)

Yeah, ain't she great? Her name's Tonka - a purebred long-haired Shepherd. She's a real poser too. She's 8 now...starting to go a little grey :(

I'm so sorry. That's so sad. Death is so difficult. We are nursing a sick dog who while back on her feet has a short time left due to cancer.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

A fellow animal lover,
Renee

How sad - those losses are huge for the young ones and not so tiny for us older ones. How about rescuing an animal from a pound, a puppy that needs a little girl to love it back to trust. Anne

8 is a fine age, don't be sad! our shepherd and miniature schnauzer both turned 8 in june, and the beagle is 10 - no signs of maturity there whatsoever!

marianne, absolutely go to a shelter! we got our beagle there and it was a very positive experience for everybody involved...

I am terribly sad to hear this beauty is gone.

I personally think this photo should have been in the top five.
