How about an concept where members (might be another feature for members only vs. registered to add to the list of reasons to part with $) can recommend posts or replies (probably another button next to quote) they find particularly useful. Maybe the top few each week/month/whatever can be shown somewhere. It could be another stat on peoples profile.

I know it's similar to the infamous helpful check in challenges but this would help recognise those that help a lot in forums separately from their images.

You mean like a "Fav this comment" checkbox? That would be interesting feature to use.
