Hi All

I am sorry I missed the occultation of Venus when it started; here it̢۪s after exiting from behind the moon (crescent).

Yeah, I saw it round about at this point also, quite amazing to see.

Good shot. Thanks, it was cloudy here, but the glow in the clouds indicated that the event had occured about 8 hours before sunset here.

wow nice shot. We're in the rainy season right now, I saw a tiny bit of the full moon at the beginning of the month and haven't see it since, and barely the sun. Can't wait for it to all stop, at least we have people all around the earth to show the stuff. Thanks

It wasn't visible at all from North America (except a very small area of Canada). Good to know that some got to see the event!

I saw Venus and the Moon tonight, but they were much further apart.

That's what I love about photography, the ability to experience vicariously through the photos of others.

Composted of two photos taken minutes apart; the moon was to the left and higher in the sky. Both photos were taken with the same Focal length, and no single image resizing, so the size and size ratios are correct.

We walked out on the porch in Missouri around 9ish and my son pointed out to us what it was(the weatherman had told him) it was cloudy but very apparent to be seen. I'm not an astonomer, nor do I pretend to know the skies, however what I saw was just what was in the photo, except it was on the other side of the moon.

If I had taken the photo at the time the occultation started this would have been a single shot, because the moon was at that position then!
Not only that, but Venus would have been on the other side of the crescent resembling the one on the minaret.
