Well, I felt good about it. And the director put me on the "short list"...so I was one that he liked. BUT then he decided to audition teenagers instead. So, unless he doesn't find a teenager he likes, then I'm out. :(
But, at least I made it on the short list!
My good friend works at the casting office, so I got some of the inside info on how I did...that's always a nice perk.
Thanks for all the broken leg wishes everyone!

MissyRichter I hope your son gets the role!!! Let us know.

Don't count yourself out yet. A lot of times they cast "adults" who look like teenagers (minors specifically) due to restraints on working hours for minors. They can work adults a lot longer than minors. Remember Ralph Macchio? He was like 24 when he did Karate Kid, although he looked MUCH younger. Keeping my hopes up for ya. Keep us posted.

Magen,

The audition and short list part is sooooo cool! Way to go, friend.

I'm still rooting for you. You look young and would be great as a clerk. Next year at Park City, it's for you.

I didn't realize that we had so many people on here that are on TV and in Movies. And I don't mean like some BS background stuff I mean like BIG parts in movies. That is awesome guys.

Geocideand magenmarie I am very impressed with the work that you guys are doing. I hope you both make it big someday and you are one of the greats.

Just promise me you won't end up like brittney!!!

Thanks everyone! You're all so sweet to say such positive things. :)

Geocide, congrats with all the parts you're getting/have gotten...etc. You ARE living the dream!

Magen,

Don't give up the dream.

One thing about this industry I call a career, and am disappointed with, is that it's not what you know, but who you know.

It's something like %80 Networking, %10 knowledge, %10 persistence.

And living in a market that has more possibilities helps too.

Break a leg on the next one.

Isn't that the truth!
I won't give up the dream.
At least more opportunities are coming to the Carolina's since the recent incentive program. But i do plan to move to either NYC or LA.
Thank you Man_Called_Horse

That sounds great u made the short list! Congrats, i hope you get the part! How exciting.
My son is just trying to get experience on his resume. He got a paid part in the movie and several scenes to shoot but don't know what yet and no speaking roles. Also his pay was cut 25% because last Tuesday they announced a budget cut on Gospel Hill.

Not trying to sound dumb or critical, but, your 7 year old has a resume?

LOL...i know what you mean. Well, all their work experience is added to their portfolio and added to their resume. When going to an audition they look at experience before performance sometimes. Most kids his age and already on tv have pages of work on their resume where my sons only has his classes that he has taken in his agency. So even getting pd extra jobs in films goes on a resume showing they have some experience.
