ya what a great idea. Since there are people who do know how to get around the right click save and other methods, lets not do anything. I kinda think that most people who "steal" from here are not too bright, most will not know how to get past the simple features. Heck it doesn't cost anything to impliment the simple ones now and then think about the expert fixes later. So ya, since people rob banks why have vaults? ;) |

All that is being stolen is the image of course, but in small scale. I know of some websites that wont even allow you to copy or cut text. |

But disabling right click seriously impedes user functionality. ie, I like to right click to open things in a new tab, rather than click and then use the back button.
Simply, the function is BS and is only implemented by the most amateur of web designers.
I've started another thread about a "better" solution

Why start a thread that has been done so many times before. This has been discussed almost as much as rude comments or troll voters... Do a search, read what's already been posted, add to those all ready overdone conversations if you feel it's necesary...

I think the best thing that could happen is when the user click an image by camera , the camera allows the authors name to be written in the image itself, like exif data. The difference between the exif and this is that the images without exif could be opened in viewers, but images with author name could not be. (this is just a basic idea, and i think it still could be cracked, but with little more effort , might be made usable). |
