The link below is to a local story here in the New Orleans area. Last Saturday a deputy (Mayo) was killed responding to a call about a body in the road. He lost control and hit a tree. His seat belt snapped and he was killed. His driving partner survived. A dog body was later found.

Three days later during the funeral procession a heavy thunderstorm blew in. A pine tree fell on one of the police cars killing the deputy that was driving! The passenger, also a deputy and engaged to be married to the driver was hurt bad and likely will be paralized from the chest down. The hurt deputy's last name is also Mayo, the same as the deputy who died in the first accident. They are not related.
