I have heard that you can use the MC-20 with the D200 without problems and I was wondering if anyone can confirm that this is true.

Heh. I was just researching this today. I've found many references to the same idea of using the MC-20 with the D200.
I decided I didn't need the timing mechanism, just the remote, so I just bought this remote release.
I find it amazing that such a simple act as "push, hold, release the shutter" takes 10 pins!

| Oooh, a remote would be so lovely for long exposure shots, and that price looks quite affordable. Lemme' know how it works out for you. |

The MC-20 or MC-30 will work just fine. I saved my money and bought a third party version of the MC-30 off eBay for about £8.00 ($15.00 USD), it works just fine.

The 10 pin connector also incorporates a serial data port and some other tricks. Thats why it has so many pins. |

Thanks for the replies. I haven't quite decided yet whether the timer is worth a little extra money or not. I do know that I am disappointed that the wireless remote release is so expensive. I have enjoyed having it on my D70s, and will miss it now. I guess there are other redeeming features of the D200 though.
