If anyone remembers this lens it came kitted with the EOS Elan/EOS 100 back in 1991.
It came with the original Canon EF 28-80mm USM but used most of the versions are the same price. Should I just grab version 5 assuming its better and will it work just as good or better with the camera? |

Im not so sure that i do if it has nothing todo with the question. Ive been buying up vintage camneras and someone was selling this old autofocus canon on dpc and i figured what th eheck ill take it.
I have a 28-90 on it now but the lens isnt myne id like to get the lens that matches the flash zoom range on the camera. I searched around but couldnt find a real thing saying what the updates on the lens where.
However if u have somethign else to say feel free to pm me. |

Found this. It looks like the first version (original without roman numeral) is the only one worth anything unless you go for the L (different animal altogether)

Yeah the L is about 530 dollars used! WOuldnt mind it but rather get my other pentax.
Usually with the newer versions they fix problems, change seals ocasionally change the glass around a bit but not much.

According to the article (if we exclude the L lens) the original is the best. Anything with a roman numeral is ... well ... crap. Though the V might be better than the I. |
