They gave the name of this bird at the show, but I didn't quite hear it, and now I want to be able to give this shot a caption. Any help from you birders would be much appreciated!

Looks like a heron of some type...or some kind of large, storky bird... :)

Yeah, it looks like a Marabou, except the head isn't red and it doesn't appear to have a wattle or that weird red fleshy thing behind the neck. Maybe a youngster? Where was this bird?
ETA: great shot
ETA: image (not mine, but that's what the ones in the zoo here look like ... they're not very pretty)

This bird is near Toronto, Canada, but that's meaningless because this was a bird show and they had a variety.

From looking at the picture you posted of the bird I think I can say the the scientific name for that bird is:
Storkybirdus man_inbackgroundis
