Got mine today. I ordered the WhaleTail and a set of colored gels. Been playing with them for the last few minutes, but nothing to show off yet - perhaps later this evening. So far I think its uber cool and has convinced me to play around with multiple flash sets since I now have a diffuser for each of my flash units.
Why WhaleTail? The biggest draw to me was that it can fit on any flash, not buying a new diffuser for each flash will save money in the long run..... and I had one flash with no diffuser... so......

Cindi did you get the Reporter or Studio? I am thinking of getting one and was just wondering. I already have the Lightsphere. But am debating getting rid of ot and getting one of the whaletails.

I got the reporter. The Studio version looks HUGE! Besides, I figure I'll only use it when I'm way from the studio, so the smaller one made more sense.
I kept my LightSphere to use on my slave flash. :)

Whale Tail ? Hasn't that got something to do with a womans thong being visible above her pants?

I finally gave in and bought a LightSphere, and quite honestly I don't like it as much as my $13 Stofen OmniBounce (which is also much easier to fit in my bag). I had high hopes for the LS, and granted I bought the clear version since I was doing a wedding with it, but I still got shadows even when the wall was a good distance back. I'm not necessarily disappointed in the product, just disappointed that I paid that much for it. Maybe I would like the cloud version better, I don't know... |

Rex - yeah, I've played with the gels. They're COOL! That's probably my favorite part of the WT system.
Buckeye - I use the clouded lightsphere - it was recommended by a pro buddy who'd already tried both and preferred the clouded.
