I was just about to purchase Lightroom until I read some of the comment on here on how the program makes your computer or laptop slow. I have Photoshop Elements 5.O to convert Raw Files but I want something better. Help a brother out so I want purchase the wrong software. |

NX all the way! Nothing compares to NX. It rocks so much that even the SC had to outlaw some of the features for basic editing. NX NX NX! :-D |

NX is the only way to go if you're using a Nikon. You won't be dissatisfied.

NX is not particularly fast either. What is the speed and RAM of that laptop?

As a Canon user who's played with NX and owns Lightroom... get NX. It is very powerful.
The only way in which Lightroom may be better is for dealing with very large shoots where the same settings can be applied to multiple images. Lightroom is quite demanding of hardware, and apparently does require a high-power graphics card for reasonable speed.
On my (older) system, NX was faster than Lightroom. I should note that Lightroom was in beta at the time, but the released version is really no faster. |

Question: I have Capture 4.0 which included Camera Control. With NX you pay for Camera Control separately. BS. Can I keep 4.0 installed for Camera Control and use NX for RAW?

Yeah but I am not sure if that will be the case if you upgrade your camera. |

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying Camera Control wouldn't work if I got a D80 or D200? Wait I do think I see. NX was designed with D80 and D40/D40x in mind, but 4.0 wasn't. D200 though...

Yeah I think the D200 is cool but you got it! |

Do Circuit City sell Nikon Capture? Is this the best way to go? |
