I've googled around a bit and not found much to my liking...
My goal is to produce a photographic representation of Korea for the folk I meet here to take home... I think the simplest way for users to view something like this is on a DVD.
What I really want is for the user to be able to display photos as they please by selecting them from a menu, play them all as a slideshow, or view them as galleries...
Does anyone know of some software (functional, and preferably not user friendly rubbish) that might do this job well for me?
Cheers. |

This seems to be more of a thumbnail management and PC based slideshow generator... I really want this to be in standard DVD video format...
Any suggestions? |

I do things like that using Adobe's Video Suite, which includes a DVD menu creation program, DVD authoring tools, and of course Adobe Premiere Video creater.
I just "Automate-to-timeline" a folder full of graphic files. Before hand I set the seconds for viewing and the transition f/x type and length. I first rename each graphics file starting with a number like "0001" and put them in the desired sequence in each folder that I import/automate.
Users can choose from a menu on a DVD, but can't select which order to view them in or which ones not to view. All menu choices are predetermined and created, then burned to a DVD.
You cna make "Chapters", each being a different set of slides. They can then choose which set to jump to. |

| Adobe Lightroom, may be a consideration, it has some easy to use features for slideshow and gallery creation. |

The slideshow gets exported to PDF and without music in lightroom. Maybe I'm missing something though. |

Ok corel photo album can do this but it will make vcd's that will play in any dvd player or if you have vista ultimate the software to make dvds from photos is built in I use to use corel but now I use the built in app in windows.

check out proshowgold
you can easily make a nice slide show with transitions and such - export it to a dvd, and includes the original files on the dvd if you want as well.
