:-) It does look like a cheese grater! lol
The item itself does not have a power source and you don't really use it (like an appliance for example). It is on top of something else and one part of a bigger object.

No, there is no light that shines through it. Maybe some sunlight though. |

It is still attached to what it is normally connected to. I'm not an expert in these things but I bet you can remove it if you want to. :-) I'm guessing it isn't removed too often though. |
