No. I'm just joking around. I know you commented on way more than I have. And you are definitely better at getting good pics too.

It also appears to me after flipping through Judi's comments made that she only comments on really good photos. I didn't come across any really bad photos where she left comments for improvement. I think she is singling out non-suck photographers for comments. lol. What's up with that? |
Well if that is the theory...then that means all the entries in the May Free Study were classed as good...considering I commented on 100%. Did you????? |

Just a thought...if the people that want to whinge have that much energy...why don't they spend that time commenting on entries...you never know..you could learn something...and earn a ribbon in the process.
What have you got to lose? |

Ok. Art (Ken Priest) aka ART ROFLMAO, is known on the site for his antics, goofiness, his mastery of Photoshopping AND is the resident "village burner". Waaayyy back when, Godzilla made appearances in his Photoshopped images, being silly, flames ablaze, and one thing led to another and Art (Ken) would jump into a thread when things ran a muck, offering to burn someone's village that was "mis-behaving".
When you did you post, my reply was a tongue-in-cheek touch of humor about being careful of how much of your "village" he should burn (the controilled part), as there is a lot of heritage/history where you live (or live near).
Then Judi popped in singing a tune about it (looks like it was The Camptown Ladies - "De Camptown ladies sing dis song, Doo-dah! doo-dah!"), reworded of course to fit the theme of the conversation

The word in bold of yours above needs clarification or an apology. Civilizations, in case you did not know, are built on top of each others findings, each making great use of the ones before it. Your choice of word was totally unappropriate and unacceptable.
Now that you have used “heritage/history” I feel a bit easier with your words.
It would be nice of you to rephrase the whole reply or to retract from it.
Thanks

Well I didn't then nor do I now, mean to insult anyone's heritage, but come on.
Remnants, remains, archaeological artifacts, etc. all meaning the same.
rem·nant
n.
1. Something left over; a remainder.
2. A piece of fabric remaining after the rest has been used or sold.
3. A surviving trace or vestige: a remnant of his past glory.
4. A small surviving group of people. Often used in the plural.
I think numbers 1 & 3 fit well and is an appropriate word for the way it was used.
Sorry, I don't compose hastily and am quite literate with the English language.
If you took offense to it, I'm sorry.

This individual came in here spoiling for a conflict. When it didn't appear at once he kept pushing his agenda, over and over.
HighNooner, you really need to relax. No one is out to get you. You, and you alone shaped your experience here in the forum, by the accusing content of your first post.
To be perfectly honest with you, I was offended by your first post. I'm quite puzzled by all the apologies that you've received here. You got exactly what you were looking for.

first of all if anyone owes anyone an apology it is you for implying that members of this site are racist or bigots! you don't know us and have no right to say that. You start a thread every few day trying to start a fight and then get surprised when people get upset. You just love starting trouble.

Dang, it is the shoot out at the OK Corrall at High Nooner thread. Lets all just enjoy the images and be friends here.
The way the system works is that it only updates every so often, and if you post on the beginning of the cycle, it takes a while for things to show up.
Read the fine print just under the first box, left hand corner, of your profile page.
Be careful while flying. A good crash may break your camera. : )

Well, I have just look back at the post I made on this photo it’s still not showing on my “made comments”; SC do you have an answer for me? And for all the furious, I do not know why, people out there, I raised a question and I need an answer that is all, so cool it off. |

I will meet you half way and let it ride, and I thank you for your explanation. I just would like to point out that the capital of my country Amman gave its oldest name to “Philadelphia” one of the greatest oldest towns in your county.
Cheers

You raised a question tinged with your own paranoia, "...is this an elite privilege or a biased position against non western members." It is not unreasonable to expect that some who read that will take it as an accusation of bias (that IS what you said), so you invited the responses you now protest. A simple, "Why are some of my comments not showing up?" would have sufficed.
The answer is far less sinister than you seem to think: it's a bug in the comments (as mk mentioned way down at the beginning of the thread responses). For some reason, some comments are showing up in green (or not at all) even though the voting is over. I'm sure Langdon will get it worked out. |

would have probably even been more productive and less distrubing if a simple help ticket was used instead of starting an entire possibly hostile thread. It is a good question that I'm sure has a very unbiased answer. |

It's actually a plot. DPC is actually a CIA based organization and through its sinister coding it removes comment counts made by certain members in certain countries. The goal is to create inner turmoil in those countries. You see, like yourself, you have noticed the dastardly plot. Now you will fixate on it. Posting like a rabid dog to get your answers. Your productivity will go down. If enough of your fellow country men/women follow your course productivity throughout your country will go down, causing your GDP to go down and basically throwing your country into a recession. Next thing you know our elite troupes will swoop in (do to your countries weaken state) and overthrow your government and absorb you all into our collective. The program is called "the Borg Initiative" and has been going on for a few years now. DPC is actually located deep in the bowels of the Pentagon.
Or it's just a programming issue.
Please refer to Ockham's Razor to figure out which one it is... |

Indeed. You aren't the only one seeing this, and we already have at least one ticket asking about the same problem (a respected member from California, if it matters). :-/ |
