Yeah but that's Jean-Jacques. He just uses that to keep it fair for the rest of us. :) |

I don't care what camera you put in JJ's hands, he'll ribbon with it. If you never have checked out his port, you should! Some of the most amazing photographs I've ever seen. |

And you know what really sucks? This did not even make his top ten!
I feel so inadequate ......

EDIT:
You think the b&w/desat conglomerate is strange? Three of the top twenty photos were of big cats! Soon they'll be ubiquitous as bees.
:-)

I agree. anytime someone wants to complain about the advantge of some people ahving a Dslr i point to him. People always want a P&S challenge and i always wonder why. he would just win it anyway. |

Agreed.
I would LOVE to see the original based on his comments: "It took some time to turn this timely snapshot into a decent photograph." Sounds like he's gifted in Photoshop as well! :) |

jjbeguin used a Canon G7 for that photo? Wow.
Btw, I noticed that at least half of the top ten were taken with wide-angle lenses. Just an FYI.

Obviously the good old days of hyper saturated landscapes have left us. What's next? No more flowers? water drops? Oh, the insanity of it all.
How I wish it could be 2005 again.
Seriously, I think the biggest shock was a selective desat photo at #4. Way to go Enzo! These results just illustrate that it is hard to pigeonhole the typical DPC voter. Heck, even a cat made blue ribbon a few weeks ago! |

Do you also notice the votes with 1,2,3 even 4 in 20 first photos?
Do you see the diference between this and the challenges that count in DPL leage? |

If you're suggesting there are fewer low votes here because nobody's voting down images to help their league scores, I don't think that's correct. This was a free study, so there's absolutely no question of DNMC voting, and the images as a whole will always be of a higher quality anyway in a free study.

Those were good ole days? I'm personally glad to see the voters are perhaps, just maybe perhaps, expanding their horizons and appreciating some other types of photography.

Should I have added a 'toungue in cheek' tag to my original post? ;) |

No, but I'm wondering what front page you're looking at... |

Funny how people just see the top three and little else. No wonder the ribbon winners get so many views compared to 4th, 5th and so forth. This challenge was pretty close and could have very easily ended with one or two highly saturated photos in the top three. Regardless who cares. |

Haha, I only look at the top row. ;) In reality, i'm just poking a little fun at the threads that pop up talking about the good old days this, good old days that. I find the site refreshing, fun, and it has a great mix of people and photos.
Richard, I care! Darnit! :)

Oops! Appears that too much time was spent. :/ Anybody else notice a change in the Free Study lineup on the front page? |
