Ok, I'll add you to that team for my results. Someone else will add you to the official roster.

Can someone bring me up to speed? In March I posted to Kelly's "average under 5" thread stating that I would join with my dismal rating. I lost track of the thread because so many new versions were showing up.
Now, through serendipitous PMs, I find I would enjoy the banter here, I don't know the relationships among Team Suck threads. What's the difference between Hoover suck and AU 5 & the others? So do I just jump in? Or should I wait to be asked to dance... |

Team Suck Policy Statement
posthumous quote:
"I don't make these very often. In fact, I might never make these, but this is a pretty fundamental policy that I'm talking about, and it's a necessary one for our survival in DPC. It has to do with voting practices. Obviously, we are not responsible for the voting practices of our members, but to go further I'd like to suggest some guidelines for how Team Suckers vote:
- We do not share photos with each other and then vote on them.
- We do not vote higher on images just because we think they were made by a member of Team Suck.
- We do not encourage each other to vote higher for certain types or styles of images. We pride ourselves on our variety of tastes and styles.
- We do not encourage any particular voting method, though we might frown at people with 3.67 voting averages and make grumbling noises.
- The only way we might influence voting is indirectly, by enriching everyone's tastes and opening their minds to what can be beautiful, and this sort of discussion is never about an identifiable picture in a current challenge." |

Sisi, welcome to Team Suck. Its good you're back with DPC and great to hear you are learning so much from your DPL team. I am actually surprised at how much the DPL has help me too. I never expected such a benefit.
Rob, I hope you have a strong basement. Sounds like it's going to be an exciting night. |

Here is the Average Under Five Thread.

Hi gang.
I'm popping in for a respite for all the bickering and angry threads about voting, comments, friend voting, etc. Blech.
I think I'll just hang in the TS thread and my DPL thread for a while.
I got some nice pics last night that I might enter in this week's challenges. If I don't enter 'em, I'll show you all later. :)

Jeanie, so glad you are healing so well. I am still astonished by the amount of damage that can be done by a camera bag. |

Average Under Five is just a group thingie.. not a team thingie. If that makes any sense, which I don't think it does. ^_^ |

I feel like I've broken my Free Study curse.
Of course, my *other* photos are 4.5 and 4.0, but who's counting? hahaha |

Hey, if anyone has a spare moment, and likes my shot, I'd really appreciate your voting for me over at jpgmag. They actually encourage friend voting; I'm guessing they figure it's good advertising. As a reminder (several of us TSers have entered there over time), if I get published, I get $100 and a year's subscription.
My current shot is at 84 yeah! votes and 13 favorites, which far surpasses anything else I've ever entered, so I'm hoping this one gets in.
It's for the theme America, and is my current fourth-highest-scoring DPC entry: //jpgmag.com/photos/41308
Thanks!

Excellent, Don! I have only entered one free study, and I didn't enjoy the experience. I haven't even looked through my month's shots lately for anything to enter. I guess I should do that; I sometimes have some good non-challenge shots that might fare okay in Free Study (though I doubt they'd reach 5.5, let alone 5.7). Will have to think about that.
You guys inspire me!
Best,
Rob |

Agh, what a nightmare. I could've sworn life was going well a week ago, then suddenly everything got complicated again... On the bright side, at least I'm leaving this city soon, with its associated host of tangled, nightmarish social relations. Maybe I'll do better in the next one... |

Life has a nasty way of doing that, doesn't it? Here's hoping tomorrow brings another change, and this time for the better. Where will you be going next?? |

Jelena got there first - I was going to say the same thing - the three ribboners were among my favorites, but I thought they were not typical "DPC" and am flabbergasted at how they finished. Tide indeed does seem to be turning... |
