Darn, that is a nice shot!

I thought it looked quite ordinary as a thumbnail (there are lots of these macros in the challenge) but this is a very nice shot. The body is well lit and the focus is good, although perhaps a little too much towards the front of the flower. Despite the numerous like-shots I'd probably rate this an [8].

Are you messing me around pitsaman - the sceond pic wasn't there before! This is a better shot - very clear and defined, lots of detail and really good lighting. [9]

While they are both good shots I prefer the light bug, perhaps because it is a different breed of insect that was not so visible in the challenge. What I like most about it is that you can see the texture of the bug, especially on the black area of its wings. Nice work.

I would have given you at least 8. If I were awake enough perhaps even 9. They are very good shots comparing to some other ones I've seen so far.

It looks like I've found a cultural misunderstanding in my garden entry, amazingly. The image I've taken has received plenty of 'Where's the garden?' and 'In the garden?' comments.

It's why I like these challenges - but I just wonder what it would score if people knew it was taken 'in the garden' as there must be many who simply don't bother to comment and pass it by :). Oh well, I'm off to hang my washing out...

9 !!

These shots have the best DoF as compared to what I have in the recent macro entries - Care to share the details?

Jacko, great shot BTW, if you want to embed a DPC portfolio image you need to right/control click your image page and enter that url ('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/xxxxxxx.jpg') between the tags.
