I took this shot yesterday as this thunderstorm was rolling in from the west. This is the batch plant next door to our plant. I like the building being white, it really adds dramatic contrast to the dark sky.

I thought it would've been a cool shot for contrast. Weather would've been a good challenge for it too.

Just thought I'd share - Bob

The atmosphere is great.
It looks like the plant is making clouds out of sand :)

Actually the wind picked up just prior to this. I was trying to shoot between the waves of dust coming right at me. But thanks for noticing. It was an eerily cold wind too. I think its the dust in front of the building that gives it that "ghostly" look hortopth mentioned.

I think it would be a great shot for 'the future' challenge. It has that futuristic feeling to it.

Let's get the niggly bit out of the way first - I would crop it down to lose the half truck and blown out sky.

Now that's done ... wow! ... The white building does indeed make the shot look 'spooky'. The dust and clouds build the atmosphere beautifully, especially the patch of white cloud right behind the building.

Very nice shot. have you tried it in B&W?

No I haven't tried it in B&W yet. That's a hell of a good idea though. That's why you win all the ribbons!!

I haven't worked on this shot much. I cropped a little off of it and kicked the contrast up a notch or two. I want to clone out the truck. I think the sky being a little blown out isn't hurting anything. If I do greyscale it, I might burn it a little till it matches the blue part. But I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I appreciate the feedback guys.
