I am doing a photography internship with an opera and for equipment I have a Nikon D70 and 2 B400 Alien Bees lights. My problem is how to connect them to the camera. Each one has a sync chord but I only have 1 hot shoe adaptor to plug a sync chord into. If I just buy another hot shoe adaptor can I put that one on top and plug them in that way? What would you suggest? Also, I have a sony a100 camera and I don't know how to find out if these lights will work with the hot shoe adaptor as well. Thanks for any advice you have.

Just plug one of them into the sync cord, the other should trigger off the flash of the one connected. All this should work with the Sony, but try and make sure too.

I was going to say what sam said. You only need to sync to 1 light.

Yep, your alien bees should (do) have a built in slave, just hook up one to the camera, meter and shoot.

You have some good stuff by the way, I'm sure you'll get even more when you have those AB's working for you.

I don't have an external meter in my studio, so I always start at f/11 and 1/200 at 200 ISO and it's usually very close - I can then stop up or down to reach desired effects from there.

Hope you're going to show us some photos when you're done!
