I want to upgrade my editing software. On Ebay I see 2 good looking sellers, selling both products and it looks like there will be a $300 price difference.
I am upgrading from Elements 4.
Is there enough difference between CS2 and CS3 to make $300 worth it. Note to add my learning curve is rather slow. I like what Elements 4 does , but I can see a definite difference in the quality between CS and Elements users.

This is what Trials are made for. Install them both, try them for 30 days. Might have to look around for the CS2 trial as adobe may have removed it from the downloads.

There certainly won't be a trial version of CS2 available anymore, since it's not a current version. Trying out CS3 is a great idea.
I'd be careful about buying from e-bay. Not that I'd recommend against it, just make sure that you're getting what you think you are. You want unopened, unregistered full (not upgrade) versions. Make sure it's not advertised as an "OEM" version, which does not exist.
If there is a $300 price difference, then there's really only a $200 price difference. Doesn't make sense? If you buy the full version of CS2, you can upgrade to CS3 for $200.
Also, if you or a member of your household are a qualifying student, yoiu may be able to pick up CS3 much cheaper.

I just downloaded the thirty day trial for CS3, and it had a lot more stuff. It was something like 493 Mb. Geez took a half an hour on my DSL line. But it is really cool compared to my PhotoShop Elements. Almost the same layout and things in the same place. So only the new additions need to be learned and a little remapping of the brain as to where things are located.

As a long time buyer on Bay I look back several pages into the feedback, not only to what is said, but for any evidence of shilling. I also read all they have to say. But thank you for reminding me about the $200 upgrade, that makes a difference.
