I have found that when I walk with my camera around my neck it is very annoying that it will bounce left to right off of my stomach. Does anybody know a trick to make it stay in one place without holding it with one hand.

put the strap across your body, like a courier bag. this needs a longer strap, but it's the most convenient way i've found (in over 20 years of carrying SLRs) to stay comfortable. plus, you can also swing it around to your back if you need to bend over to pick something up. and the weight isn't only on your neck either.

My strap is along the side of the camera (I use a battery grip) and I NEVER hang it around my neck. My strap is always over my right shoulder and my camera is generally in or very close to my right hand all the time. Very quick and easy up to my eye.

Mine is always on my left shoulder, so I can reach across with my right hand and snap a photo in a second. Plus you look less like a tourist that way

I can't stand walking around with my camera "loose" around my neck or wherever.

When i walk around taking pictures, i'll wrap the strap around my hand and just hold it on one hand. I wrap it really tight, so it's almost like i have a bionic camera hand.
Ps yes i'm getting a battery grip and a hand strap soon :p

I have done the same, its like a hand strap that you can buy. It works out great that way.

This one gets my vote too.
I also like a hand strap, which I used on my handicam for a long time, but I don't use one on the DSLR..
