It says the Metro doesn't run on Sundays. Stupid Kansas City non-mass-transit crap system.
It's like LA here, but worse, if you don't own a car, you're SOL. |

okay...trying to sort this out...
--I'll be at the Hyatt near the convention Crown Center.
--Saturday seems like I'll have a day in Independence, bikers and architecture, etc. Transportation curtesy Brizmama planned.
--I still need transportation to the gardens on Sunday....
--I'm free for lunch most any day...
--I've been to New York City and ain't afraid of no bus! (Well, only in as much as is healthy to be afraid of such things.)
--I'm not opposed to walking places.
--I understand there might be a whole bunch of fountains around KC that I should check out.
--I just realized that all my points begin with "I" =/
--I'm happy to meet up with any and all...
--Just promise no tornados...those all stay in Kansas...right?
Arriving Friday afternoon...leaving Thursday...some time reserved for being with my husband and his colleagues.

My transportation issues have been resolved. We're renting a car for the week. :)
Erin: I'd still like to meet up on Saturday in Independence for the biker thing and whatever.
On Sunday: Powell Gardens...Has a time been set? How about top of the morning when they open at 9:00 a.m.? |

| I am Sooooooo there.... ill have to run some stuff by my Wife for this weekend... i would love to join the fun!! and during the week my Work time kinda sucks i work fomr 10:30am to 7:30pm so during the week some Night Shots.... would be fun =) Let me know of the times and stuff... i will also go back and recap on this thread =) |

Wave and I can't make it out to Powell until about 2:30 so we'll just have to call the group and find out where to meet as soon as we are free Sunday. What are everyone's NON Sunday plans? |

Have rental car will travel...really, I don't mind driving. :)
Re: Sunday, maybe we should try to meet up around noon at Powell Gardens? I'm easy and have no particular schedule to keep this weekend.
So...who can make it when?
Is there another place a group would like to meet on Sunday morning...or is everyone busy then? |

Glad to see oyu made it.... I have an indoor soccer game to night at 11pm... and then ill be free for the week end =) i see Powell Gardens.... just keep posted on wat else is going to happen i LOVE GTG =) |

I'd say just meet at Powell Gardens... It is a lot easier directions to Powell Gardens then to your house, or even my house.
Noon is ok... I think it would be best to get their a bit earlier... but noon would be fine. Myself, my wife and our 2 kids are in... who is keeping a count??? I guess I could...
I also have an idea... since there will be a few photogs from here meeting there... let's all submit something from the GTG to the Free Study and see who scores the highest...

Good... I'm glad, I was staring to feel bad. But now I'm happy... I won't be able to do anything tomorrow (Saturday) But I am excited about Sunday... yeah!

I plan to head for Independence in the morning and take some shots of the church that looks like a clam shell....and whatever else there is on a Sunday morning.
Had a great time today shooting things that go zoooooooooom with Erin!

We did have fun in the sun! ...and we both got some sun...maybe a little too much sun... :(
Glad to hear someone was sitting inside in a cushy chair with plenty of available fresh water and air conditioning while /other people/ were out drumming up business! ;-)

Ok about Sunday.... i have Church til about 11ish...then ill come straight from there... my wife is teaching the little kids a Dance for there new Play at church and will be there all day and said she would watch the little one as well.....see ya guys there =) |

It occurred to me we didn't say exactly where to meet up. I looked at a map of the gardens and the "Visitor Education Center" looks like a likely place...let's meet inside.
I'll send my cell # to those on the list in case you arrived and can't find us. I'll be there by 12 noon at the latest.
(adding that I won't be able to check in here after this as I won't have access to the internet...so someone please call me if anything major changes)
