I'd like to go. I'll need transportation probably...but details can get worked out....and I'm hoping you all will decide and let me tag along.

Erin brizmama, sorry I haven't caught up with you yet...still trying to catch up with myself. :} I'd love to go to a bike rally on Saturday! (I'll answer my e-mail in the morning...)

Glad to see there are a few lively souls in KC! ...and now that the flight is straightened out you can add a couple more for a week starting Friday night. =O (Watch out, KC! I'm on my way as soon as I pack!)

Okay, I think we're all on for Powell on Sunday, but we need to make sure that Ms. Kadi can actually be there still, right?

I thought I heard my name...I can be there IF I have some transportation. I'll be at the Hyatt near the Convention Center. Anyone coming from/through/near that way?

(Also, would still like to do biker thing on Saturday if the invitation is still open. Will go to my e-mail and make a proper reply.)

Make sure you go to Skies, top floor.

Umm, we live waaaay out south, it's about an hours drive into the city on a weekend with no traffic.

Anyone else closer?

We are closer to downtown... but we are in Blue Springs... East of the city and Powell gardens is east of us... so we would have to drive 25 minutes west to the city, then back east... past our house to the gardens. We have to come up with something though... we are doing this get together for you. Anything planned for Saturday?

I'm happy to take some form of public transportation...is there anything (reasonable)? I'm hoping that I don't have to rent a car to get around during the week...but I'm getting the impression that KC is more sprawling than I'd imagined...

Erin, left you a message with my #'s :)

Edit to add: I don't expect people to make 25 mile trips and 1 hour round-abouts for me...there must be some options better than that!

Where are you staying downtown? The Metro Bus system is cheap, but can't say it's great. There's plenty to do down there. (It is down for me, lol!) I can't pin anything down, but if something gets going, or if there is some free time you'd like to spend doing something, I could probably make it. Kids and a husband sometime come first, ;) lol!

I don't know how serious you are about renting a car. It might be worth it if the funds are there. There is the metro buss which you can ride arround town very cheep. It would also be a good way to get some shots of the city. I wouldn't do it alone though. If I were you I would travel with a friend. I live out by Lone Jack. My wife and I can go pick you up, and drop you off after. I'm used to driving it don't bother me. We just need to decide times now.
