This is the reason that I love this place so much... If it wasn't for you it wouldn't be what it was!

Thanks, Robert. BTW, did you ever get your lenscap? Oh, and I like the new profile pic.

That's the other reason that I like DPC so much. . . meeting real people instead of just hanging out online. Maybe I really should organize a Charleston GTG. :) |

No, it never got to me. No problem, I'll get a generic one at a local camera shop. Thanks, Nikolai1024 took that shot of me while I was running the boat on Lake Powell at the Red Rock GTG.

That's a great idea. I'd like to make it to that one. You showed me a lot of what Charleston looked like and it would be a great place for a GTG. That and some of the islands off the east coast.

That certainly made me lol. Is that what it sounded like? Seriously, though, I agree. I've been to three get togethers in two months and I really like finally meeting the people that previously I had only known by usernames and meeting members that I didn't even remember seeing on the site. Leaving St. Augustine and leaving the Red Rock group was like leaving high school on the last day. It was really a great experience to spend time with these people.

Seriously! Besides grad ND's, there have been many, many other of my purchases and processes that have influenced by what I have come across in these threads, comments, and photographer's comments on DPChallenge.
I, very often, tell people who have never heard of DPChallenge that I have learned more on this site than I could ever have learned in any college course in photography.
There are so many products and methods of handling what comes out of our cameras. I wouldn't have been exposed to one quarter of it by myself or by reading photo magazines and books.
This, along with the competitive drive to improve my photos, is what has helped me to discard 98% of the photos that I thought were good before I found this site.
Yeah, I like DPC. |
Yeah, what he said. :) |
And you both met me! Sheesh! :P
I like DPC because it gives me a chance to play with the creative side of photography, to play, to have fun and to hang with some really cool people.

If it wasn't for DPC, I'd be an a horrible mess. It got me through some very bad times in my life. Some of y'all know what they were. It got me out taking pictures...and talking to people here. And some of the people are amazing. I don't know all of you, so I can't say all. But if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be where I am photography-wise.
And how do we sign up for this meet cindi thing? How much does it cost?

Then you better make sure it's worth it. I want all of your lighting secrets. And a door prize.

Seriously, my studio is open to anyone. I love to chat with photographers and don't mind studio visits at all. Anyone passing through is encouraged to call. :)

I like DPC because when I was single it got me so many ladies. I would wait around until after rollover when I would hear everyone cry about their low scores...when I told them their photo was gorgeous and that the voters just didn't understand it they were already mine...I can't count how many times that worked, and that's how I found my wife.
Thanks DPC!! |
