Since everyone calls it The Update Buttonâ„¢ anyway, why not make it a big-ass gaudy button that one could get some serious satisfaction out of pushing? (if that's how one would find satisfaction, of course)
Clicking a hyperlink just doesn't have the same dramatic feel, ya know?
And let's have a stat for the amount of times a user clicks 'update' per challenge...I think it would be a totally useless stat, but it would be fun. Or not.
Good stuff. Keep on...keepin' on.

I think occasionally this button should also go into mouse avoidance mode and run around the screen for a while, seriously irritating the user :-)

or better yet make it fun, something like "Wack a troll" where a bag head pops out of a hole in the screen and you have to wack the little bugger over the head and maby the holes pop up randomly around the screen...

Please explain to me how the Update 'button' is not the meaning of life?
I think we are on to something here, people...

Yes. YES! I see that I am not the only genius here.
But that post was, like, so three days ago...
(My apologies, I didn't see your previous thread...nor can I read, so it wouldn't have made much of a difference).

I for one still think it'd be a great idea.. |

OK if you really want to mess with peoples mental stability how about a button which plays a little fanfare if you're score has gone up, and a groan if it has dropped . . .
:- ) |
