Alright here’s the question...A scientist has figured out how to litteraly turn your eyes into cameras. You can take perfectly exposed photos, no blown highlites and pure blacks with definition. All you have to do is mentally trigger the “shutter” and it takes a photo and stores it in an area of the brain not used for any other function. You will never be without a camera againâ€Â¦every moment will have a chance to be documented. No grain in low lightâ€Â¦and pretty much unlimited storage. The only catch is that it can only be done using B&W. You will have to make the choice to give up your color sight to have this amazing abilityâ€Â¦once done there is a slight chance you can have it reversed but there is a 40% chance of total blindness. The operation itself has a 90% chance of working without a hitch, and has no side effectsâ€Â¦besides the loss of color.

What would you do?

By the way money is of no concern, this cost you nothing because it is so groundbreaking.

Now I know some might ask questions to how the photos get out of your head and printed. During the operation they implant a sensor that will wirelessly transmit the signal to any given computer with wireless access. This can be switched out as new technology arises.

You were the first nominee for the procedure; they have thousands of perfect candidates on their list. They have given you three days to make your decision and today is the last day.

What is your answer?

no way ... I'll keep taking mediocre images and keep my color eyesight

No - My eye sight is not 20/20 so focus would be a problem and my mind already takes black and white snap shots everyday and allows me to review them in the form of dreams. Even though not at my request, but random and I don't have a way to download or print them.

You know... when I look at thinks I never have good composition. I'm not gonna cock my head funny to get a rule of thirds or tilt it to get a straight horizon :-)

Really, that would take all the fun out of shooting. Knowing HOW to use the camera, experimenting with different settings.

I am however waiting for CCDs to replace my scarred retinas :-)

nahhh... let somebody else go first..... besides with advancements in technology.... they will perfect it to the point that you can keep your color sight and give you telephoto abilities :P

Very true...but you would go down in history and become world renowned photographer...then you would have so much money that when the new procedures/technology came out you could easily get it done. You could even pay to have research done to get your color back and keep the ability with no down sides. You have use your imagination here folks.

LMAO "Your skin it just so bright and glowing".

What about that 6 MP CMOS that can extract full 6mp frames at 30 fps. No shutter/eye blinking!

Yea they are transmited to any computer with wireless access...so you could use photoshop...it will not be a RAW file though. The resolution will be off the charts so you won't have to worry about that anyways.

Ya know... This sounds like Fun. I have even thought about it in the past... Not being limited to B/W.. but being able to capture what I see.... even though I dislike b/w, I would do it. It would be fun...

Where do I sign?

eventually they'll just integrate cloned eyeballs into the camera for photos that are true to human vision. The information saved could then be fed into a special virtual interface which would put your viewers directly into the photo for the ultra-real experience. Editing the image could get interesting. Just enter the image and 'touch' to select whatever you are altering. Groups of people can enter the same image to explore and talk about it.
