I was wondering how difficult it would be to add a "last logged in" time under the "User is currently offline" section on the left side of a users profile ... I think it would be helpful when you're trying to find a friend ... to realize that you just missed them, or they've not logged in for a few days ... |

I would like that...it would be useful for keeping track of your teams also. |

That would be helpful. Only a moment ago I looked to see when one of my teammates last posted to the forums to get just an idea if she is still active.
I'd like to see this feature added for sure.

From a technical standpoint, it's very easy - in fact, the feature currently exists for Site Council. We don't share it publicly, though, for privacy reasons.

I must agree this is helpful as I am also trying to figure out if a teamate is still active and it says last post was 3 weeks ago.

My first thought was damn stalkers. But with places like MySpace its optional.
So how about default is off but option to have on? |

Not to steer this thread off topic, but if we have this information why do we have so many accounts that are not in use? Not being picky but I really always wondered that?

Largely because there is no reason to delete them.

Also slightly off topic, I've always wondered what the population on DPChallenge is. I am curious to know
1) The total (I guess I can get that by multiplying users per page times the total pages of user.
2) More importantly, how many currently use the site, say active in the past month.
3) Active in the past 3 months.
4) How many registered users are also members.

thanks for the response Terry ... I guess I'm confused as to why that would be a privacy issue if user profiles already display the last threads that a user posted to ... but no worries, just thought that would be a 'nice to have' feature ... |

Its a privacy issue for some people. You get to know when theyre onthe computer, when their on here. Its just another way of tracking you.
People pm someone dont get a response later they see their online or werebut no response in a couple of days so they send a i see u were on today answer me pm. Its just not for some people which is why myspace makes it optional. |

it's easy to see who is currently logged in here ... go to "community" then "who's online" ... there is nothing secret about who is logged in and for how long ... |

I didnt just say is online. I stated twice in the example for was online/last time you were.
In an unrelated example people who know you can call you and find out if your home, but would you want people to always know the last time you were home. Not much can come of it here, now other things liek that offtopic example can be dangerous information. Some people get paranoid for little things for no reason.
Sounds kinda stalkerish dont it?
Kind of hard to convey the point. But some people dont want you to know, some dont even want u to know their online.
