I had my camera in my backpack. I took out the CF Card last night for a pic. So, I come home today to take a couple of photos. The cover broke in half. What do I do???

cover of what? the camera or the card? |

| do you have a cannon shop nearby? shouldn't be more than $20 to replace the door. |

I'd shoot without the cover and see if it still works
if it does - duct tape to keep the dust out until I can spare it for a week or two in the shop to get it repaired.
if it doesn't - off to the shop it goes
Maybe all shops aren't as backed up as my local shop - they want the camera for a week just to give an estimate!

There's a little button that signifies that the door is shut...so, it doesn't shoot unless the button is pressed...and I can't think of a way to rig it.
