good, maybe I can catch up.

I mean, well, what I meant was, sorry about the sore fingers. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Well, I just did a couple.
If there are any left later on, maybe I'll get another chance.

Ohhh, I just pulled ahead of you timfythetoo.
I hope there are some left when you get a chance to do some critiques.
Heh, heh.

Okay, I am back to within spitting distance (I think, for now) of timfythetoo and sfalice.

The number is dropping quickly. Should be done sometime on Thursday. :)

You sure are coming up fast.
Wow, I'll get out my raingear in a minute, or else start typing.
What's your range?

Eek! Where did all the pictures go?! I was doing critiques in April, there were always 200 pictures in the queue at a time. And I just came back and there are none! Wow, well done everyone! :D

But... but... I already commented 100% of DPL! Never fear, I may pick up a CC or two just the same.

NOW there are just 23! Someone is having a field day. Nice.

Sorry...all gone. I was sitting around at home with nothing to do. Critiqued a ton and got through voting on all 6000 of the selective desat entries.

Already?! God, you guys are hard to compete with :)

I dont know about you folks, but this is one impressive stat that I just noticed. Everyone doing this should be proud of themselves.

418 photographs have been critiqued by 31 different members.

There are 0 requests currently.

Would be nice to see that happen every week. ALthough I know we all dont have that kind of time. However 329 members it should be able to happen, but how many are active? Is there anyway to contact the members who arent active and find out if their intent is to continue? If not perhaps replace them with ones that are?

Anyone can join, so it is not a matter of actually replacing someone, though I know what you are saying.

Those are impressive numbers!

They're actually down slightly -- I think it was over 500, but the Free Study and the other large challenges from the beginning of the month are starting to roll off. The number is of course limited by the number of requests -- it's been a long time since that's been a practical limit!

The 31 is probably a good proxy for the number of "active" members. As to those not active, there's no real benefit to removing them. The number of requests to join seems to have increased somewhat though -- probably due to increased visibility from this thread and from the number of critiques being done. There's no limit to the number of people we can add, but a request doesn't mean someone automatically gets added -- we do look at the quality of their comments before adding, and often request that they get a little practice commenting in detail on entries and then come back to us.

:)

Don't believe him. They let ME in!!

I am amazed at how quickly these are being taken care of. I can't get in to make any comments. I know I wasn't always the most active, but now that my life is back on track, I'm trying, but can't get in there. Good job, y'all.

Well I guess my point is, I always see on the CC screen

"There are 329 members of the critique club"

"(insert number here) photos have been critiqued by (insert much lower number here) in the past 2 weeks." It just seems like there are alot of members compared to the number of active members. So no one ever leaves the CC unless they quit the site? None ever get weeded to thin the heard? Not that its necessary by any means more curiosity then anything.

MattO's got a point here. When people see that there are 300+ members of the Critique Club, and they never seem to get a Critique, they cannot be blamed for thinking the Club is broken.

Maybe a very loose rule: anyone who does not give a critique in twelve months is dropped from the Club but may reapply for admission at any time.

That's probably a good idea. I know that I'll go for a couple of months without making any critiques, but I eventually get back to them for a few at least. (I got one in after rollover on Sunday, then they were gone!)

73 in the queue. I did three this morning. Plenty of time to knock them all out if everyone who's critiqued in the last two weeks just does two!
05/25/2007 10:59:32 PM · #150
Now there are 54 in the queue. Um, I did my two. Everyone else?

May has almost ended. Will we cleaer the queue one more time?
