Ditto. If you're going to get down low, then you might want to have them "bend at the waist" down towards you. It'll even everything out without having them scrunch their chins down against their neck (creating double chins and all).
Also, it helps to have them agree on a place to look. Either they both look at you, or the both look away (at the same object somewhere else). Or have one look at you and the other look at the other person. The girl in this image looks "disconnected" from the action.
