I had this feeling my camera wasn't exposing right. I asked folks here, and they told me it was that my flash wasn't powerful enough for what I was using it for. I still felt like my camera wasn't exposing right. In situations where 400 ISO would be great with a film camera, my camera was shooting dark. So, I took it in to the shop with FOUR DAYS left on the warranty, and I am so glad I did!

They confirmed that it wasn't exposing right. They adjusted something called the element, the shutter, and replaced the freaking sensor.

In essence you got a brand new camera on the inside.

True true and new stuff is good. On a camera that is destined to live the first thing to die is the shutter. If the sensor was gonna go then its probly not gonna be an antique in a museum at the end of its life lol.

Out of interest, was the camera exposing correctly in non-flash shots? I've just got a 400D, and it's doing really wierd things with the flash. Very inconsistent, and very common underexposure with the flash. I've found the FEV button, so it's less of a problem now that I can get around it.

It was underexposing all the way around. Flash/no-flash - didn't matter.
