| Heads up--it looks like Amazon is putting the rebate on the 17-40 twice! it shows up as $637.50 (which would appear like the regular cost - $50 rebate), but when you add it to the order it takes ANOTHER $50 off bringing the price down to $587.50. Using that price, free shipping, and $75 in Amazon rewards points, I just ordered the 17-40 for $512.50 delivered! Such a deal, and I can't wait for the brown truck to arrive this week! Woo Hoo! |

Damn, it works.
You don't see the extra $50 'promotion applied' thing until the very last screen (before your card is charged) but it listed it as 587.50 for me too (B&H is 629.95 w/ rebate).
I wonder what will happen if they notice their mistake -- will they still honor the price? Almost would be worth buying a few and then reselling on eBay! |

Holy shitake mushrooms! It works for the 70-200mm F/4 too. I was thinking of getting one anyway!
I just placed my order for $487.38 (including tax and shipping). How will I break it to my wife? But at this price, honestly, I could easily just sell it on eBay and turn a profit immediately. FYI, B&H has the lens (including shipping) for $539, so I'm getting a straight $50 off the rebated price. I'd buy another to resell, but I don't have the cash (my wife would kill me) and I don't want to look like I'm abusing the system.

FYI, Amazon still is doing the double rebate (or maybe their normal price is just much lower than B&H?). Amazon has a page listing all the lenses here.
And, not only that, my new 70-200mm f/4 shipped this morning and is supposed to show up TOMORROW! Not bad for free shipping. |

right now Amazon is telling me that my estimated delivery date is JUNE 15-22 ... I'm going to go crazy waiting that long ... ugh! |
