This morning my wife called from her workplace and said that there was a bear just down the street - about 1/4 mi from our house in the middle of Rio Rancho, NM. I grabbed my camera and put on the 120-300mm and rushed to the scene. The bear, which had already been darted (in the lobby of a clinic) was brought out on a stretcher in front of the clinic. I fired off a dozen shots or so. The story has been showing on CNN - wish I'd been the submitter. Oh well...here are a few pics.

so you're saying "barely" made it there?...:) sorry that was bad.
Too bad you couldn't get some earlier shots, I'm sure he was just in town to look for picnic baskets. |

LOL...if I'd been watching the local news instead of C-SPAN I would have been right in on the action. |
