Has anyone seen these for sale yet? I have been waiting for it since the Canon press release but wasn't expecting it until at least June. On the Don's Photo website, however, it is listed as for sale...I'd call but they're closed :(
Anyone else know something I don't or do I have to hold my breath til tomorrow? |

Why are you upgrading from the S3? Just curious, because I'm still getting great things from my S2.

I am going to call this morning - just in case!
levyj413 - I purchased the S3IS about a week before I heard about the S5IS, so I brought it back! I figured I could wait a little for the upgrade. But I was very happy with it - great camera, no doubt about it. For a little more $$ though, those extra MP and the larger screen seemed worth the wait. Don's has the S5IS listed for $549 Canadian, so the price isn't too much more than I paid for the S3. |

Makes perfect sense! You might be amused to know how I came to own two Canons. I first bought the A620 having never learned of the S2 IS. It worked great, right up until I drowned it via a not-quite-closed water bottle in my backpack. One month old.
During that month, I learned of the S2 IS. So when I again needed to buy a camera, I got it. Then the A620 dried out a week later and has worked perfectly ever since. My wife let me off the hook, saying that if the S2 made me happy, I should just keep it. So I did. :)
I still use both, though, for different purposes. Mostly I use the A620 for the fun of trying to get high-scoring shots on the A620 page. A little silly, I know. :) But I also have an underwater box for it, so I use it then, too.
