Thanks for the reminder--it's been a long time since I went tidepooling! |

		| Trends and Fads are synonymous. Don't try to seperated them or understand any insignificant difference between them...lets have fun with this challenge. |

I guess I will just rate every picture keeping the "Challenge Theme" as the last priority |

One thing we are good at here on DPC is our opinions--and that's good. One thing we SHOULD be giving each other more often is: the benefit of the doubt. Assume that the photographer knows the challenge and is submitting a challenge-worthy photo. If i come across a photo that doesn't seem to meet the challenge, I always assume that I'm stupid first and make efforts to get into the mind of the photographer for a moment. Then only if that doesn't work (it usually does!) do I consider giving it a lower score for not meeting the challenge.

When I submitted my picture I know that a lot of people wouldnt get it, but that doesnt mean that my subject is not trendy. I'm not doing as I expected, although right now my score is higher than my average. I also think that this theme was a bad idea due to all the different people from different places that submit and vote. when you're voting, just keep in mind that what doesnt ring a bell to you might be very trendy where the person that submited the shot is from.

I have been having problems voting on the Trends challenge and looked here hoping to find advice. Did the challenge simply limit people to subjects related to a trend or is the photo supposed to illustrate a trend. If the photo needs to communicate a trend, I would think multiple examples of the subject would have to be shown in order to the viewer to see a trend. There are a number of good photographs, but very view where I would think "trend" without knowing the challenge name or seeing the image title. I'm curious about other interpretations.

From a voting perspective, I usually take off a point if I don't think a photo meets the challenge. Not a big impact, but worth asking for other opinions. |

In this case I am overlooking the challenge aspect totally BUT then again I wonder am I? |
