I'm kinda glad. Melinda will be just fine on her own. She's fantastic and consistent, but sometimes consistency just gets a touch boring, and I think that's probably what happened here. Blake and Jordin make for a much more interesting finale since there's no clear winner between them.

| WTF? I'm pissed Melinda is going, she is better than the other 2, though I do like Jordin a lot, Blake is just annoying. |

Melinda may have been more consistent, but she isn't a very good entertainer. Blake is the better package, imo. Also, Melinda is more of a blues-y girl...the other two are more pop so will attract more votes, I think.

I think Blake should have gone home tonight because he has the weakest voice, and between Melinda and Jordin I would pick Jordin (BTW I think last night the Judges and Producers were trying to mess Jordin up with the song choices and comments but she made the best of it). Lets see what happens next week :)

I still believe Jordan will win. Jordan has a great fan base and so does Blake but I feel that Jordan will win over more of the Melinda voter than Blake. 65% Jordan / 35% Blake

| I like Blake better, but Jordan is a better vocalist and does have the potential to be very marketable as well. So either will be a good choice I think. I'd be happy with either result. |

| Melinda had the best voice, Blake is the best performer, but Jordan's vocals aren't far behind Melinda and her performing isn't far behind Blake's.....so she will probably win. I could be wrong though, I've been wrong before. |

I thought the same thing (about them trying to mess her up), it's like Simon refused to give her a solid compliment & in the end he wouldn't say who else besides Melinda should be in the finals...I think they wanted a boy-girl finale. |

The thing that I get a kick out of, Is every week since the start of the season, Melinda acted surprised about everything except being voted off lastnight. I think Melinda will sell more albums than the other two put together.

I am bummed. Melinda was the best vocalist that the show has ever had. Nobody ever had a harsh word for her. Nicest contestant as well. She is so humble she stayed happy even in defeat.
I am ready for that new band show however. That will be sweet! |

Can't wait either. About Melinda though, how many would honestly buy a CD. Yeah she can sing, but that style of music........she wouldn't sell very many CD's. IMO....You just can't get with my girl Carrie!!! LOL |

Tina turner sold alot of records. So did fantasia. I think she would do well. Bottom line is she deserved to win.
I just hope blake does now, because that other chick freaks me out for some reason. I think at any moment she could snap. |

Anyway, here's my take:
Melinda
I have to admit, I never liked Melinda. It was honestly her non-existant neck that bothered me at first, but that quickly turned into her ingenuine smile and her overly shakey voice. I admit she put on a good show for a while, but it didn't take long to figure out her humble little diva formula that she never quite shook off. Yeah yeah, there are people that think she's relly like that, but I'm not one of them. Her major in college was based soley on her vocals, she was a background singer, and then she goes on American Idol saying, "Wow, I've never been told I was good before." Bull. But...I never thought she wouldn't be in the finale. I didn't want her to be, but it just seemed to be a fact. So, needless to say I was very suprised/happy he got booted because I don't feel that someone so fake should be an idol for anyone. And I really don't think she's going to do that well on her own, but I guess we'll see.
Jordin
I've always been pulling for Jordin since her audition and really think she has great potential to be an American Idol. However...I almost want to change my mind because he opened up her annoying mouth a couple episodes ago, and now no one can get her to shut up. I think she could really sabotage herself if she says something stupid/embarrassing during the finales. That being said, does she have have a superior voice? Of course. Does she have great potential? Yes. Will she sell millons of albums if she wins or loses? Duh. I'm not worried about her at all, wherever she ends up she'll be fine.
Blake
This is very tricky matter. I've liked Blake from the beginning, but I never thought he would excel this far simply because people recognize him as a beatboxer before a vocalist. BUT, I can't help but gush over his performances every week and I really think that his vocals have actully improved. A lot of people (including most of the Melinda fans I'm sure) find him annoying and maybe weird, which is somewhat understandable (he did come from Seattle after all!), but I have to disagree. I think that he is the most original breath of fresh air that has never happened and probably never will happen again to American Idol. His performances are smooth, unique, catchy, and can actually compose...but can he win? Maybe. Will he go platinum wherever he ends up? Will hoards of screaming girls go to see him Live? You bet, and I'll be there too :)
This is why it's a tricky situation, I think Jordin and Blake are equals in their own ways. I would usually make a prediction at this point, but I think it's really nessessary in this case to judge based almost soley on the Finale. Well, we will see...

My take on this --
Melinda - at times had some wonderful performances. I don't think she did that well on Tuesday
Jordin - her voice and range is amazing. Win or lose I think she'll do very well. And, she's only 17 so she has lots of time.
Blake - a little too gimmicky for my taste. |

Tina Turner yes, but Fantasia who?? I agree she deserved to win, but I don't think she would be AS big as Ms. Carrie. I agree though about Jordin, she kinda reminds me of Shrek's wife when she stands next to Ryan. SHE'S HUGE!!! |

Jordan will be a flop. She will go plat, and will have lots of fans, but we will forget all about her in a couple years.
Chris, Carrie and Kelly will endure longer.
