Ah, according to the radio the fans are already streaming towards Scotiabank Place en masse...GO SENS GO!!!

Add a large rootbeer to that beef sandwich order, would you? Thanks! ;-)

Technically it isn't over yet (yeah yeah--I know. I'm not delusional). So just wait a minute on that roast beef!

With the Sabres having players with NO shots on goal last game, I guess Miller will have some shots on goal then - maybe a couple go in? Oh, AND he gets a shut-out? I mean he is the only one playing with any heart.

Well, so far I'd say Roy had a pretty decent shot on goal. :)

You probably should post it while the Sabres are still leading. :P

Figures.. I watch the game until Buffalo is up 3-0 and completely controlling the game.. so I step away for a little while, check Yahoo, and it's 3-2 at the end of the second. LOL.

Oh Ottawa, you're a team of destiny so far.

Ottawas great and it would be nice for them to win the stanley I even have some money on them but they usally choke when the real presures on...

Well the Sabres FINALLY showed up to a game and played the entire thing! I'm not holding my breath on us winning the series (for obvious reasons), but at least it won't be a sweep. On to Saturday...

Ok hold off on the roast beef..at least til Sat...

The Sabres DID play a good game last night, that first goal really rocked the Sens back on their heels. I wasn't at all surprised that Sabres played like they did and I'm kinda glad they did win, stops Sens from getting too complacent. And hey Sabres finally got a goal on a power play! Way to go!

Too bad the Sens only played real hockey for 5 minutes but at least they got back in the game with them.

But my biggest beef is with Spezza. He spent all night circling back and grandstanding like some stupid teenager instead of getting to the net.

Regrettably bradshaw's right...when the pressure's really on Ottawa tends to choke. They were everywhere last night except in front of the net.

Hopefully the Sens will wear their black when they get to Buffalo so they get booed a lot, maybe that'll kick them into gear. Go Sens go!

Now you're rooting for Ottawa???!!!!???? Talk about bandwagon jumping! The Ducks, aren't even out of it yet and you've already abandoned them, too?? :-)

The Wings are without two of their top three defensemen (arguably) and are still rolling...maybe they aren't that bad after all?

The Sens tend to go home after the second period. Hopefully, they'll stay longer for game 5.

*sigh* you may be right about the 2nd period thang but they did basically reverse their original game this year, ie a sucky first period, decent 2nd, spectacular 3rd. Now they've almost gone full circle.

Frankly I wouldn't mind seeing this series go to Game 7 but the Sens DO have a 3 game lead...Go Sens Go...

Abandoning the Ducks? whaaa? I only said they'd tear Detroit apart. Which apparently isn't happening, my bad. But I actually dislike the ducks a lot. Just not as much as Detroit :)

Last canadian team in the playoffs, I'm canadian. Oh goodness, look at that :)

My order in the Playoffs is Sharks - Western Canadian Teams - Eastern Canadian Teams - Whoever hasn't won a cup before.

If the final or conference finals are full of teams that are none of the above, I usually actually don't even follow the rest of the playoffs. (Like the year New Jersey beat Dallas.. didn't watch a single game).

It's amazing to me that people still want to pull out the "choke" label because the Sens lost *one* game.. (and almost came back and tied it for crying out loud). When it's game 7 and they're being badly outplayed, then come back and mention anything about choking.

ai yi yi. I swear, the Sens would have to go 16 and 0 before anyone of their fans even considered thinking of them as a great team.

Apparently the fans at the game last night were actually booing at times. No, there's not much loyalty there.

But they were playing like dorks! They were all over the place! I'm not trying to diss my team, but I do believe in being realistic. Both bf and I agreed we'd have benched Spezza. Vermette tried his speedy little heart out and Corvo did his best to drill holes through Miller with his shots from the blueline, but Alfie and co were just not together...and Miller wuz on his game real good.

Don't worry, the Sens will likely take the series by the next game. But they've gone to pieces too easily before, and we fans all hate to see that happen. They have to go to the net, none of this asinine circling back and wasting time..unless they're killing a Sabres power play.

*breathing into paper bag now*

A quick statistic or two: Only two teams in NHL history have won a series being down 3 games to 0. However, 17 teams have won a series after being down 3 games to 1. The Senators no longer have a 3-game lead, they have a 2-game lead. And if Buffalo pulls off a win on Saturday, you can be 100% certain the Sabres will go back to Ottawa with all pistons firing! It aint over yet, folks!

Hockey playoffs can be SO stressfull...

You're optimist eh? Funny that's how I usually rationalize it too when one of my teams falls behind 3-0. The problem usually is the team down 0-3 has been severely outplayed and there's little chance of making it a series. Here Sabres haven't been severely outplayed and if it wasn't for a couple of bad breaks would be in much better shape. Actually it reminds me a lot of the Rangers series and how they should have been up in that series even before they lost game 5 in the most unlikely of ways.

"expectant dread"--I like that! I sincerely hope my Sabres live up to your expectations. :) So let's see, if the Sabres do pull this off (as unlikely as that is), does Ottawa actually make any food I would want? No matter, since either team should be able to handle whoever wins the Western Conference without much trouble. Therefore, just winning the cup will be just fine by me (dives for cover...).
05/17/2007 04:11:56 PM · #300
Hmmm..according to the bet with our respective mayors, Sabres give 58 beef sandwiches and assorted ball caps from fire/cops etc. Ottawa also is doing the ballcap thang and 58 bottles of maple syrup (in maple-leaf shaped bottles). Do you like sirop d'erable, Pixl?

Oh yeah, no need to dive for cover just yet...! :-)

And in terms of indigenous greasy food we have beavertails and poutine...
