You're just biased.
People said the same thing about the Sharks.
Then the Sharks came out and figured skated their way out of the playoffs. |

The Ducks also played a stellar second round, foiled mostly only by Luongo, and even then, not enough by far. There's no sign of them pussy-footing around. |

All that said, the ducks are going to be a challenge, just like Clagary, and San Jose, never mind that the sharks failed to play a complete 60 minutes, they were still a very physical team and had the opportunity to knock out Detroit.

No, but your defensemen are the most important thing once you get past goaltending. Anaheim has two elite D-men and Detroit has one. Rarely are there goals scored when these guys are on the ice. |

In a couple weeks, the Sens WILL be going--to the golf course, to their summer homes, or to wherever else they go in the off season. They are not getting past Buffalo--deal with it! :) |

I think they need to change the nickname of their arena -- Shark Tank is just so much more descriptive of their performance than their facility ... |

Good point, however you can't win a game without scoring goals, and as far as points this playoff season, there's only one Duck in the top 20 as opposed to 3 Red Wings.... defence protects a lead, but goals win the game. And yes it is Pronger who is the lone duck in the top 20. and as far as +/- goes, no duck at all in the top 25... 4 Wings.... it'll definitely be a long hard series, but I don't think that having 2 even really talented defensemen will win it. oh ,and for the record, there's more Ottowa and Buffalo player in both stat rosters than either of the western conference teams....... |

Apparently they haven't learned anything from their previous two series. They are like spoiled children who balk at doing dirty work. I think it was Afinogenov late in the third period who tried to beat 4 Sens at the blueline rather than just dump it in and chase it. Yet despite getting stood up at the blue line time and time again they managed to get that offensive zone draw with under a minute left and they always seem to win those and then quicky score. Maybe if they dumped the puck more and crash the net they'd get more of those during the rest of the game...
Also, I like to think the Sabres are a little better than a team that gets swept shortly after beating the Rangers. Sort of makes me think the Rangers really blew an opportunity and I rather not think that. :P

The Sens are playing themselves of a few years ago. Buffalo is playing really soft and have taken a page out of the Sharks playbook of stupidity. :P
Still lots of credit has to go to the Sens. They have easily been the best team in the playoffs thus far.

YAH BABY! The Sens are on fire - 4-3 in Game 2 with a killer shot from the blue line by my new hero Corvo, and that 1-0 in Game 3 last night back home in Ottawa - nice of Alfie to give the puck that little nudge, eh?
I wouldn't be suprised if the Sens put the Sabres away tomorrow night but, if in the freakish off-chance that the Sabres win, then I say the Sens will do it in 5. Who's with me?
So about that beef sandwich...like I said, lots of hot mustard, a pickle or two, and oh yeah, a side order of coleslaw...
GO SENS GO!!!!! |

"Charlie The Butcher" is right around the corner from my work place. Come on down to Buffalo and I'll take you there--best beef on weck in town. And I agree, the Sabres will hopefully win at least one game (at this point just for pride), but Ottawa will probably take the series by Friday. After all, this is Buffalo--always the bridesmaid... |

Oh yummy getting hungry now....and I am overdue for a visit to the States, may well take you up on your offer! And don't feel too bad, last year Ottawa couldn't get past Miller for love or money, at home or in Buffalo.
But yeah, I think this is our year...
And I'll tell you a secret...if you're at the game, chanting Rayzor's name only fires him up even more, it doesn't shake him! :-)

Oh I know, but "Emry" just rolls off the tongue so nicely. :) Miller could care less too, so the chanting is pretty much just something for the fans to do to pass the time. :) |

I always thought it to be kinda an ineffective way to rattle a goalie, too. Guess it works on some. And yeah, no matter how rowdy or drunk the fans get (or both) at least their names are easy to remember! :-) |
