Hey guys. I've been playing around with HDR photography and have decided to buy myself a tripod. I'm always travelling/hiking so I need something very light. I picked this tripod out Benro C-027 Carbon Fiber but need help on picking out a head. I'm on a budget, but I don't want to buy gear that is going to need replacing quickly. I'd like to keep the head no more than $100...but I'm not sure if thats possible. Like I said I'm always on the go so lightweight is a huge plus. If you could please recommend a head that takes this into consideration. |

The Manfrotto 486RC2 should fit your needs and budget nicely. Weighs only 1 pound, and has a quick release too.
I have the 3265 Grip action ballhead and I love it ($90), but would weigh down your carbon fiber a bit more than a regular ballhead. On the other hand, since your Benro is just under 4 feet tall (without the center column raised), it will give you some extra height to your tripod. |
