The European Goldfinch shot was taken with a 30D, just how many cameras does this jerk have?? Love the comment, Art!!

To Gary & Larus: I would not bother leaving a comment with the 'individual'. Report this (these) violation(s) with deviantART. Definately post a report with deviantART. With enough reports & proof of copyright infrigement this 'individual' will eventually be banned.

This sort of thing happens but in no way shape or form is it right NOR should it be tolerated. Sadly, I have heard quite a few reports from deviantART artists who also suffer "rips" of their work. Bottom line you just have to be diligent and report directly to the authorities when this sort of thing happens. I have looked though the gallery and I do not recognize any other works...yet.

Tim,
I think I still have a copy of one of Hannah's pictures on my computer (when we were editing it in a thread).
Does that count?

I can always snag another if you want. ;)

Nice to see that some of the images have been pulled, but not all of them.

I would say that almost everything there is legit, although they do share photos to use in composites and such. the person in question here was doing that with Gary's photos. I get some great ideas there.

Why can't we secetely watermark or somehow imbed something into our photos. Or why can't DPC put a marking of some sort on the photos to help reduce this kind of theft? Other photo websites do this.

I'm staring to watermark my photos just in case someone decides to steal them... :D

Not yet! We're covering "Obnoxious Watermark Removal" tomorrow! :P

Ok, yeah, a quick and messy job - like destroying a fancy car in the process of stealing it. ;-)

There might be some really talented people on deviantart, but these type of people produce doubts about others too. Every now and then a thread crops up that someone (on deviantart) stole image of a dpc memember. Because of this when i see someone's work on DA, i always have doubts about it.

I hope these people spend time learning art rather than just taking off from some site on internet.

There are way more people there thatn there are here so when you ahve mroe people you will ahve more bad apples. People here have stolen images and cheated too. I know many people here also have devient art accounts.

That has happened with many other sites besides Deviant Art -- there are (unfortunately) tons of threads regarding stolen images.

Yes it is.... and the link below to her profile page brought up her profile but, after seeing an empty gallery I couldn't get the profile back either.

If she was banned from that site I hope she learned her lesson and doesn't go somewhere else and do the same thing.

Does registering with digimarc help?

Yes and no. Digimarc can be defeated fairly easily but most image thieves are too lazy to even look for a mark - much less go through the trouble of removing it. Biggest downside I see to it is it's expensive. There's also a slight degrading of image quality - but not noticeable unless you are REALLY looking for it.

One down, 799 to go...

EDIT: btw, I ran your fingerprint and found quite a bit of interesting stuff. Someday you'll have to tell me where Hoffa's body is.
